Final Round 9th February
Autumn Championship
No change at the Top...
It's no surprise that Aaron Vance added yet another championship win at the Club. He has been Champion since the Spring Championship of 2009! Robert Reid took runner up spot again with Roger Skelly in 3rd. This seasons racing had close battles for points for the 3rd, 4th and 5th spots with consistant driving sorting out the final standings.
David Jenkins and Jack Cromie battled it out all season for the Novice honours with the result having to be desided on race wins with the two young fella's tied on points. Jack got the call and now as they move out of the Novice ranks there should be a good battle over the Winter to see who the new Novice Champion will be.

Winter Championship
Aaron Wins again!

Winter 2010 Champion, Aaron Vance, centre with Runner-up Roger Skelly, on right and Robert Reid third.
There seems like no stopping the talented driver. Aaron Vance has been the domonante driver for the last 2 or 3 years and added another Championship Win, taking the 2010 Winter Championship. It was a close fought battle between Roger Skelly and Robert Reid for runners up spot with the battle coming down to the last round as they were tied on points. Roger was ahead on qualifing and a first lap pile up involving Robert, saw Roger heading the field to take the win and Second in the Championship. Stephen Carson took 4th, Warren Cooper 5th and young Jack Cromie 6th.
Winter 2010 Novice champion Jack Cromie, Glen Johnston runner-up on left and Ben Johnston third.
Jack was also the winner of the Novice Championship with his consistant and much improved driving ahead of the battling Johnston brothers with big brother Glen ahead of his wee brother Ben. There is a wealth of new young drivers just starting in the club and next seasons Novice championship looks very competitive.
Update..3rd Feb....Looks like Aaron Vance and his B44, is on his way to another Championship as he has yet to be beaten this season. the battle for runners up spot is a 3 way affair with Roger Skelly driving the wheels off his Cat to keep ahead of the B44 duo of Robert Reid and Stephen Carson. In the Novice Championship it looks like Jack Cromie will get his hands back on the title while the "battling brothers", Glen and Ben Johnston sort out the runners-up spot.

Aaron Wins...again!
Results of 2010 Autumn Championship
What a season.......
Tha Autumn Championship was one of the closest fought Championships in the CVMCC history with 3 possible winners following the outcome of the final race. In the end it was a tie on points between Current Champion Aaron Vance and Ryan Edwards. With Aaron having won more rounds than his rival, the 2010 Autumn Champion was declaired. 3 points behind this pair was Stephen Carson who took the final step on the rostrum.

Consistent qualifying and good results saw David Jenkins hold off Jack Cromie to win the Novice Championship with new member Glen Johnston taking 3rd.

The Story so far.....
With 6 Rounds completed, this season has not had any member dominating each round as was the case in the past. There have been 4 different drivers taking the wins with Ryan Edwards just heading Stephen Carson for the Championship so far. Stephen has been the "bridesmaid" for too long and now he has the 501 handling sorted, should keep the fight to the last round. Current champion Aaron Vance could retain the title that has been his for season after season but will have to find the form that made him so dominant. The Novice Championship has thrown up some entertaining battles between Current and Past Champions, Jack Cromie and David Jenkins. With only 1 point between them the battle within qualifying should last to the end of the season.
2010 Spring Championship
Round 12 The jumps were out for the final round of the Championship and with Aaron Vance having a commanding lead it was down to Stephen Carson and Ryan Edwards to sort out the remaining podium positions as they were equal on points. David Jenkins once again won the Novice championship from Jack Cromie and some excellent driving from Jamie Montgomery rewarded him with 3rd. Qualification didn't go well for Stephen as he was down in 2nd for the "B" final behind Jim Lee. The two of them had a great battle but the pair got caught up with backmarkers and it was Stephen who moved into the "A". Ryan was on pole from Aaron, Matthew Cathcart and Robert Reid. As Ryan lead, Stephen crashed out damaging his car. Robert and Aaron were having a fantastic battle, showing great sportsmanship if they did touch. Unfortunatily it was during one of these occasions that let Matthew through. Aaron did get past Robert before the end. A great nights racing and a fitting end to what turned out to be a Championship which reflects the current driving ability at the CVMCC
Round 11 With only one round to go before the end of this season, Aaron Vance hasn't eased up, with yet another Pole position. Robert Reid secured second from Matthew Cathcart and Jim Lee 4th. Ryan Edwards joined them in the "A" following his win in the "B". Aaron went on to win the "A" a lap up on Ryan who now has tied for 2nd spot with absentee, Stephen Carson. Matthew "battled" his way to 3rd ahead of Jim and Robert. David Jenkins extended his lead in the Novice Championship but was under pressure from the improving driving of Dean Robinson.
Round 10 Aaron Vance had another flawless night to provisionally crown him the 2010 Spring Champion. Aaron set pole and went on to win the "A" Final by 2 laps from Matthew Cathcart who had to win the "B" to get moved up to the "A". Stephen Carson's challenge came to a halt with his decision to run the 2 wheel drive B4 had him down in 3rd in the "B" behind Roger Skelly. Ryan Edwards started the "A" in 2nd but was passed by a flying Matthew to finish 3rd ahead of Jim Lee with Robert Reid in 5th following some below standard marshalling! The Novice Championship saw David Jenkins improve his laps with the return this season of former champion, Karl Millar. Only 5 seconds separated them at the end of the "B" Final with David extending his lead in their Championship race.
Round 9 Stephen Carson kept the pressure on championship leader Aaron Vance by taking pole over the Jumps. Ryan Edwards had to come from a "B" win to make the "A" along with Matthew Cathcart and Jim Lee. The junior drivers battle has David Jenkins edging away with points with his win over Jack Cromie. Both young drivers need credit for their standard of driving in the "B" finals of late. The "A" Final saw the jumps take it's tole on the cars. First to suffer was Stephen who retired with steering problems while it was lack of battery power which had Matthew off the track. Jim took 3rd behind Ryan while Aaron's win sees him with one hand on the Championship Trophy.
Round 8 Matthew Cathcart moved into the "A" final after another "B" win. Ryan Edwards had set pole ahead of Aaron Vance, Robert Reid and Stephen Carson in 4th. The Final saw the order as they had qualified until a couple of incidents had Matthew move up to 2nd after Ryan's car crashed out. Aaron took over at the front to extend his Championship lead. Stephen just edged out Robert for 3rd place.
Round 7 Not many members there but a very close night of qualifying and racing. Young David Jenkins still leads the Novice championship by beating Jack Cromie in the "C" final. Robert Reid took the honours in the "B" when pole sitter Jim Lee made a mistake while in the lead. Quick work from a marshall saw him back in the race, 2 laps down on the field. He finished second ahead of Warren Cooper, David and Roger Skelly. The "A" Final saw Stephen Carson on pole, determined to claw back some points from Championship ,leader, Aaron Vance who qualified in 2nd, Ryan Edwards in 3rd and Matthew Cathcart and Robert making up the rest of the grid. Everyone held their qualifing spot until an unforced error from Stephen, let Aaron through to the lead which he held to the end. The battle between Ryan and Matthew had them crash out to let Robert into 3rd. At the end of an intertaining final it was Aaron who extended his Championship lead from an "annoyed" Stephen, Robert 3rd, Ryan in 4th with Matthew 5th.
Round 6 Numbers were a bit low but the racing was as competitive as ever over the jumps.. Roger Skelly completed the "A" Final line-up which saw Stephen Carson on pole ahead of Aaron Vance, Ryan Edwards and Robert Reid. Super glue seemed to be the item in demand as tyres were coming off the rims on the grippy carpet section. This was Aarons downfall in his fight with Stephen as the time he lost getting the tyres sorted let Robert ahead to take second. Aaron still heads the championship with Stephen and Ryan tied in second spot. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2Z2gdo12k_8
Round 5 Stephen Carson took pole in the last round of heats when Aaron Vance got caught out by a slower car. Robert Reid moved up to the "A" to join Ryan Edwards and Matthew Cathcart. The final became a battle between Stephen and Aaron with Ryan and Matthew swapping places for 3rd. An error by Stephen let Aaron through to the lead which he held to the line, Ryan taking the 3rd place battle. You can see for yourself how it went.... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FNJf3jG86ws
Round 4 Wednesday night racing saw some of the junior racers with "Rugby" commitments but there was still four finals. With no racing at Craigavon there were six of their members in attendance. Once again Mark Penney was untouchable with Ryan Edwards qualifing second ahead of Stephen Carson and Aaron Vance. Neil McConnell moved into the "B" final having won the "C", where a great battle between Jim Lee and Matthew Cathcart ended with a mistake from the "auld boy" gave Matthew the win by 2 seconds. Pole sitter, Robert Reid, took 3rd.
The "A" Final saw Mark disappear to leave the others to battle it out. Ryan was in second until a mistake on the straight saw him down in 5th. He recovered to 4th ahead of Matthew. Stephen and Aaron were having a great scrap until an error 2 laps from the end let Aaron through to take 2nd by less than 2 seconds
Round 3 First outing for the jumps this championship and Aaron Vance took pole from an on form Robert Reid. Stephen Carson qualified in 3rd with Ryan Edwards repairs and a touch of superglue getting him into 4th.The "B" Final saw the two youngsters, David Jenkins and the "C" Winner, Jack Cromie in with Matthew Cathcart, Roger Skelly and Jim Lee. Matthew and Roger were having a great battle until mechanical problems had Roger sidelined and then Matthew's car ground to a halt to allow Jim to take a surprise win and Jack scoring his best result with 2nd in a "B" Final.
The "A" Final settled down after a scrappy start with Aaron taking the win from Ryan. Stephen got the better of Robert for 3rd with Jim down in 5th.
Round 2 Young David Jenkins qualified into the "B" Final and finished an excellent 3rd behind Jim Lee and winner, Robert Reid. Aaron Vance took pole ahead of Ryan Edwards and Matthew Cathcart. The Final itself saw an eppic battle between Aaron and Ryan with bumper to bumper racing from the two of them with the current champion taking the win. Stephen Carson retired with an ill handling car and Matthew lost his 3rd spot to Robert only for the Dungannon driver to once again suffer from front diff failure. If tonights racing was anything to go by then this season should produce some very competative battles.
Round 1 Matthew Cathcart fought his way from his win in the "B" Final to get runners up spot in the "A" behind Pole sitter and winner, Ryan Edwards. The duo have thrown down a strong challenge to both Stephen Carson and reigning champion, Aaron Vance who managed 3rd and 5th with Robert Reid taking 4th
2009 Winter Championship
Final Round With the Championship already decided for the first three the pressure was off for most drivers. The biggest talking point was the lay-out of the track with the "Traffic Calming Ramps" on the straight! In the Novice Championship David Jenkins had enough points to crown him the Winter Champion. Defending Champion Jack Cromie took 2nd with the Armstrong boys battling for the 3rd spot. Younger brother Jamie drove really well on the night but his 2nd spot in the "C" Final was only enough to close to within 1 point of big brother Kane.
Mark Penney qualified on pole but had to retire during the final. Aaron Vance took the lead and at one stage lost it to Jim Lee until he was a victim of the "hairpin jump"! Roger Skelly, having won the "B" Final, took 3rd behind Jim with Stephen Carson driving his 2 wheel drive in 4th. The newly crowned Champions, Aaron and David, were presented with the New Championship Trophies. Racing for the Spring Championship trophy begins next Thursday night.

2009 Winter Championship Podium.
Back row..Stephen Carson 2nd..Winter Champion Aaron Vance..3rd Jim Lee
Front row..Novice Champion David Jenkins..2nd Jack Cromie..3rd Kane Armstrong (not able to attend)
Round 10 With one round left the visit of Mark Penney could have sealed the Championship by the end of the night. Mark gave his usual display of "how it should be done" by taking pole by a couple of laps from Ryan Edwards and Championship leader, Aaron Vance in third. Jim Lee was a surprise forth place with the last place in the "A" final going to Matthew Cathcart following his win in the "B" over John Matthews. Third in the "B" went to Robert Reid who had a dreadful qualifing and had to win the "E", "D"and the "C" Finals! Stephen Carson had a night to forget in forth ahead of Warren Cooper.
The "A" Final saw the expected win for Mark ahead of Aaron. Ryan took third ahead of Matthew and Jim
Round 9 Aaron Vance took full advantage of his pole position by winning the "A" final and pull out a slight lead in the Championship. Second went to Stephen Carson who finished just 2 seconds behind Aaron. John Matthews took 3rd ahead of Jim Lee, back in his familiar 4th spot. Warren Cooper took 5th having moved up by winning the "B" final from Roger Skelly and Matthew Cathcart. David Jenkins extended his lead in the Novice Championship with an excellent 3rd in the "C"
Round 8 The "Jump" was out again but didn't seem to slow down Championship leaders, Aaron Vance and Stephen Carson. Jim Lee put his Cat on 3rd spot for the "A" ahead of Ryan Edwards. The "C" Final saw a win for the returning Colin Morrison from another impressive drive from David Jenkins who extended his lead in the Novice Championship. Defending Novice Champion Jack Cromie still holds on to second with Kane Armstrong just ahead of Jamie Armstrong for the remaining podium spot.
The "B" Final saw Matthew Cathcart come out the best after the first corner "pile-up" to leave Robert Reid recovering from last place, battling to catch Roger Skelly for second. Roberts pressure paid off by passing on the last lap to cross the line 0.2 seconds ahead! Matthew moving up to the "A" which saw Stephen on pole. A scrappy first lap saw Jim relagated to 5th. Aaron passed Stephen who found himself under pressure from the recovering Jim and at the finish the top three were all on the same lap separated buy 6 seconds! Matthew took 4th ahead of Ryan. With 3 Rounds to go it's all square at the top of the Championship. Looks like a grandstand finish to the season.
Round 7 Once again a good qualifying session can make all the difference in a nights racing. Warren Cooper found himself having to win the "C" final to hopefully move up to the "A". However Roger Skelly was on form and took the last spot for the "A". Reigning Novice Champion, Jack Cromie drove a very steady race to win the "D" and close the gap on this years leader, David Jenkins.
Co Armagh visitor, John Matthews drove his TC5 to 3rd on the grid for the "A" behind pole sitter, Aaron Vance and Stephen Carson. Aaron took the win with John just holding off Stephen to take second. Jim Lee was 4th ahead of Roger. With only 1 point between Stephen and Aaron it looks like an exciting second half to the current Championship.
Round 6 Ryan Edwards put his Cat on pole ahead of Aaron Vance, Stephen Carson and Matthew Cathcart. The race for the final place in the "A" saw Roger Skelly and Warren Cooper battle it out in the "B", with Roger getting the win. Darren McCabe was 3rd and leading Novice driver, ahead of Jack Cromie and Kane Armstrong.
In the "A" final Ryan lead from start to finish with Aaron and Stephen battling for 2nd which went to Aaron by 2 seconds. Matthew took 4th with Roger 5th
Round 5 Because of the missed, snowed off, round the jumps were back.Once again it was young David Jenkins who proved to be the leading Novice driver with his "C" Final win. The "B" Final saw Jim Lee's lead come to an end with a broken car which allowed an on form Roger Skelly to take the win and move to the "A". Stephen Carson once again was on pole and led throughout to win from Aaron Vance who at one stage was in 5th. Just behind was Matthew Cathcart and Ryan Edwards in 4th.
Round 4 The Track layout played a big part in the nights racing or was it the Christmas break? Stephen Carson was coming to grips with his T2007 TC and just squeezed into the "A" behind Jim Lee, Matthew Cathcart and Aaron Vance on Pole. The battle for the remaining place saw a great battle between Roger Skelly, Robert Reid and Warren Cooper. It was Warren who moved up to the "A". Young David Jenkins smooth driving style saw him take a convincing win in the "C" to move him up to the "B" and still head the Novice Championship. The "A" Final threw up a couple of surprises with Jim in the lead at one stage, but a spell in the hoses let Stephen take over at the front. A coming together between Aaron and Matthew saw the pole sitter having to battle back to 3rd ahead of Warren in 4th.
Round 3 The Jumps were out for the first time this Championship and as usual was the downfall of many a driver on the night. Matthew Cathcart was the winner of the "B" Final so moved up to the back of the "A" grid. Stephen Carson was again on pole ahead of Aaron Vance who once again entertained both on and off the track with a wee dance now and again. Aaron did however go on to take the win from Stephen with Adrian Johnston in 3rd. Matthews mistake on the last corner let Jim Lee through to "steal" 4th by less than a second. Clubman, young Jamie Armstrong, had a great drive in the "C" final which he won from the back of the grid. He went on to finish 4th in the "B" Final
Round 2 Again it took the 3rd round of qualifying to get the Finals sorted. Clubman Championship leader, Darren McCabe, extended his lead by taking the sole Touring car to 4th in the "B" final following his win in the "C". Warren Cooper held off Robert Reid to take the "B" final win. Pole sitter Aaron Vance had an easy victory in the "A" when Stephen Carson hit problems and lost laps until he got back on track. Warren drove the wheels off the Cat SX to secure 2nd spot ahead of Jim Lee in 3rd. Stephen took 4th with Ryan Edwards failing to make the start in 5th.
Round 1 Everyone had complained about the lack of grip as the floor was like a "bottle" in places. The qualifying heats saw a lot of tyre and suspension changes to find some traction. They started off, where they had left off at the end of the Autumn Championship........Stephen Carson and Aaron Vance set a blistering pace in the "A" Final with Pole sitter Stephen taking the first win of the new season. 3rd was Jim Lee ahead of Matthew Cathcart and "B" Winner, Adrian Johnston in 5th.
2009 Autumn Championship
Round 12 Final round of the Autumn Championship and the jumps were out. Although the Championship Title had been sorted there was still a lot of racing for pride on the night.Kane Armstrong made his first appearance and found himself in the "B" having won the "C". Robert Reid, Warren Cooper, Roger Skelly and Matthew Cathcart had a great battle in the "B" with Matthew coming out, unbroken, in first and on to the back row of the "A" Qualifing wasn't going well for champioship comtenders, Aaron Vance and Stephen Carson until the last round of heats when Stephen put the Tamiya on pole. Ryan Edwards and Jim Lee made up the remaining grid. The final was won by Aaron to just extend his points lead, with Stephen in 2nd. Ryans "2 wheel drive" Durgan couldn't hold off Jim who took 3rd while Matthew had the marshalls collecting up what was left of his Durgan. So at the end of the night Aaron was the Autumn 09 Champion from Stephen and Robert in 3rd. Young Jack Cromie is the Autumn Novice Champion from Colin Morrison and Jamie Armstrong in 3rd.
Round 11 Warren Cooper made good use of his "B" win to grab 4th in the "A" which was won by, what looks like our Championship Winner, Aaron Vance. Stephen Carson, again driving a borrowed car, has kept the pressure on in 2nd. Robert Reid looks like taking 3rd overall with another 3rd spot while Jim Lee finished in 5th.
In the Novice Championship young Jack Cromie took full advantage of current leader Colin Morrisons absence to pull some much needed points back.
Round 10 Aaron Vance took full advantage over Stephen Carson who had to drive a borrowed car after a bit of an off at Craigavon had his own car needing repairs. Aarons win with Ryan Edwards in second has the Championship tied on points. Jim Lee took 4th ahead of "B" winner Robert Reid
It would have been interesting to know who would have used the "shared" driveshaft if Matthew Cathcart had won his way up to the "A" Final. However Robert just held off a charging Jonny Pike with Warren Cooper and Roger Skelly locked in their own private battle.
Round 9 Halloween may be over but cars were going "bump in the night" over the jumps. Mr Henry McCrea's design was quite a challenge. Early complaints over heats and standard of driving were soon forgot when two of those drivers made it to the "A". Young Cameron Scott took the "D" and was beaten by big brother Sam in the "C" which was won by Ed Acheson, the only 2 wheel driver. The "B" saw the Team Durga drivers, Matthew Cathcart and Ryan Edwards, having rebuild their broken cars for the umteenth time, battle it out with Matthew moving up to the "A".
Pole sitter and jumps expert, Stephen Carson locked horns once again with Aaron Vance. Both "suffered" with the obstacles but it was Stephen who took the win. Matthew took 3rd ahead of Robert Reid and Warren Cooper.
Round 8 There was an "International" feel with a couple of drivers making the long trip up from "Down South". With most of the "Toys" back in the pram there was enough members for full grids down to a "D" Final.Young Cameron Scott fought all the way from the "D" and just failed to get to the "B". Unfortunatily the "Toys" first got thrown in the "B" when Jonny Pike felt he was taken out while Mattew Cathcart won from Jim Lee to make it up to the "A". Once again pole sitter Stephen Carson found Ryan Edwards on form. Following some excellent close racing for lap after lap it was Ryan who took the win by less than 1 second. Unfortunatily some more "Toys" got thrown when Aaron Vance had a track-rod pop off and could not make up the lost time to catch Robert Reid in 4th and Matthew in 3rd
Round 7 Good to see some "Visitors" returning. Craigavon Club members had a battle in the "C" Final with youngster, Sam Scott getting the better of a slightly older, Ed Acheson to make it up to the "B". Robert Reid just squeezed out Matthew Cathcart to get on the back of the "A" Final grid. Pole sitter Stephen Carson didn't make it past lap 15 following a debatable "racing incident". Aaron Vance just took the win over Ryan Edwards with Robert in 3rd, just ahead of a "returning" Adrian Johnson
Round 6 The "Jumps" were out for the first time this season and they did claim a few victims.... The "B" final saw Jonny Pike on pole but his race was over when his steering link popped off. Robert Reid pipped Warren Cooper to the win ahead of Colin Morrison in 3rd. The quickly repaired Cat of Roger Skelly took 4th and Jonny 5th. Ryan Edwards took pole for the "A" but it was Aaron Vance who took the win a lap ahead of Stephen Carson to give him a one point lead in the Championship. Robert took 3rd while Jim Lee, who's car was lost under the jump for a lap, finished 4th. the unfortunate pole sitter,Ryan, crashed out and finished 5th.
Round 5 Aaron Vance put his Schumacher on pole ahead of Stephen Carson's Tamiya. Robert Reid just behind with Jim Lee 4th. Jonny Pike won the "B" Final convincingly to take the last spot in the "A" The "A" Final was won by Stephen after some uncharacteristic mistakes from Aaron. Robert was just 8 seconds back in 3rd. Jim had a race long battle with Jonny and just pipped him at the line after some quick marshalling had him back on his wheels at the last corner!
Round 4 Stephen Carson again domonated the nights racing. The first appearance this season of former Champion, Ryan Edwards, has put on some extra pressure during qualifing. In the "A" final there was only one lap between them with Aaron Vance a further lap back in 3rd. Robert Reid finished 4th with Matthew Cathcart, having won the "B" final taking 5th.
Round 3 Another great nights racing. Roger Skelly looked set to make the last spot on the grid for the "A" but failed to make it through the last minute to allow Warren Cooper to take the "B" final win just ahead of Dungannons Jonny Pike. Young Jack Cromie was putting a bit of pressure on Colin Morrison but the more experienced driver came home in 4th.
The A Final had Stephen Carson on pole ahead of Aaron Vance. Robert Reid was 3rd ahead of Jim Lee and Warren 5th. There was quite a bit of bumping and boring going on which let Stephen get a comforatable lead which he held on to ahead of Aaron, Warren, Jim and Robert who dropped places when a track rod took too long to click back into place.
Round 2 Again the numbers were disappointing but once again a great nights racing was had. The track layout was a wee bit more challenging than usual thanks to the designer...Henry.
Qualifying followed the usual trend with Aaron Vance up a couple of laps from the chasing pack. Stephen Carson hit "diff" problems and was out action for the finals. Jim Lee took 2dn for the A Final ahead of Robert Reid and Roger Skelly. Warren Cooper had to win the B to get on the back of the grid.
Colin Morrison heads the Novice Championship ahead of young Jack Cromie.
The A Final saw Aaron take another start to finish win with Jim taking 2nd. Robert had been holding 3rd until a mistake on the last lap let Warren through to take the extra point. by 0.54 sec .
Round 1 There might not have been a big turn out of members but the racing certainly made up for it. The newly varnished floor meant grip was not a problem and Stephen Carson claimed the first pole of the New Season ahead of Current champion Aaron Vance. Jim Lee qualified in 3rd ahead of Robert Reid.
Roger Skelly looked set to win the B final and claim the last spot on the grid for the A but he failed to make it past the 4 minute mark to let Warren Cooper take the win ahead of Colin Morrison.
The A Final was a "battle royal" between Stephen and Aaron. A couple of wee mistakes from both kept the battle close and Aaron's stamping of his foot in frustration paid off when Stephen's small mistake on the last lap let the "Champion" through to win by just over 2 seconds. Jim took 3rd ahead of fellow Dungannon driver Robert with Warren 5th.
Spring 2009 Championship below......
Final Round 11 Numbers were again low but the driving was intense with a fast and flowing track resulting in some great dices. Once again Aaron Vance took pole ahead of Stephen Carson with the T2 007 Xray. Robert Reid took 3rd from Jim Lee in 4th. Roger Skelly ran away with the "B" Final to claim the last spot in the "A". Aaron raced away to another convincing win while Jim got the better of Stephen in the closing stages to take runner-up spot. Robert took 4th with Roger 5th.
Rogers result on the last round just edged out Warren Cooper to take 5th spot in the Championship. Jonathan Pike took 4th, Jim Lee claimed 3rd with Stephen Carson taking runners-up place behind the Spring 09 Champion, Aaron Vance.

Spring League 1,2,3...Stephen Carson (2nd), Aaron Vance (1st) and Jim Lee (3rd)

Novice Champion...Karl Millar.......Colin Morrison in 2nd and Wayne Balfour 3rd.
Racing gets underway again in September so keep checking for details.......
Round 10 Numbers were down on the night but the racing was close and very competitive.....except for young Aaron Vance who put on another skillful display to claim another comforatable pole position. In the "B" Final, Robert Reid had to fight off Warren Cooper to claim 5th spot in the "A" Final behind a flying Roger Skelly whos excellent driving saw him straight into the "A". Jonathan Pike won a race long battle in the 3rd Heat to out-qualify with "uncle" Jim Lee and get 2nd spot. The Final was a runaway victory for Aaron by 2 laps with Jim coming from last on the opening lap, to take runner-up spot. Jonathan took 3rd, 5 seconds ahead of Robert with Roger securing 5th. Karl Millar moves well clear in the Novice Championship with our youngest and newest driver Jack Cromie finishing 5th in the "B"
Round 9 It was a night of mixed fortunes and possibly not the best display of "controlled" racing over the Jumps. Stephen Carson set pole some 2 laps quicker than the rest. Adrian Johnston qualified second. Jonathan Pike made it straight into the "A" Final behind Jim Lee as Aaron Vance once again had a poor round of heats. Aaron "jumped" ahead of Robert Reid in the "B" final to claim the last "A" Final spot. Timmy Farrell and Roger Skelly continued their own private battle in the "B" with Timmy getting the better of the two. The "A" Final caused a bit of contraversary when Championship leader Stephen took his car off the track half way through the race, in protest having been caught up in a few "pile-ups" It didn't seem to affect Aaron however as he stormed to another win 3 laps ahead of Jonathan, who scored his best place yet at the club in Second. Adrian took 3rd and no points for guessing who took 4th...again! So with 2 rounds to go there is only a point separating the top two as Aaron edges ahead.
The Clubs latest (and from memory only...) purchase, an IR Lap Scoring System, was used for the first time and proved very efficient. Unfortunatily it doesn't recognise cars who go under the loop upside down! There were a few teething problems but, in good "Eastenders" tradition, it won't be long until Henry and Fiona get it "Sorted".....
Round 8 It was a night of excellent, close, sometimes too close, racing which saw Jonathan Pike win the "B" final from Robert Reid by 2 seconds when, race long leader, Warren Cooper crashed out to finish 3 seconds down in 3rd. Aaron Vance once again took Pole for the "A", but found himself down in 5th after a second corner "pile-up". Stephen Carson was chased by a great battle between Jonathan and Jim Lee.At the end of a hectic 5 minutes Aaron just pipped Stephen at the line to take another win. Jonathan held on to 3rd while 4th seems to be the best Jim can get! Adrian Johnston took 5th. It was one of the closest races this season with the top 4 drivers on 25 laps and 10 seconds separating them. It's back to the "Jumps" for Round 9 next Thursday.
Round 7 It looked like Aaron Vance was going to run away with another win having qualified for pole in the "A" Final again, one lap ahead of everyone else. Immediately from the start, a mistake from the Aaron let Jim Lee through to hold the lead for 3 or 4 laps until an unforced error dropped him back to 5th! Stephen Carson had had to fight his way against a strong challenge from Jonathan Pike to win the "B" Final and get into the "A". He moved up from his 5th qualifing spot to just hold off Adrian Johnston for 2nd place. Jim Lee just got the better of Robert Reid in the closing laps to finish in 4th in the 3rd race in a row. Wayne Balfour returned to extend his lead in the Clubmans Championship with a 3rd in the "B" Final.
Round 6 It was either the good farming weather or the appearance of the "jumps" that had the attendance a bit low, but a great nights racing was still enjoyed. Jump maestro, Stephen Carson, took pole and the overall win with Aaron Vance just one lap down. New member Robert Reid drove a steady race to take 3rd from Jim Lee, stuck in 4th place again! Warren Cooper took 5th having moved up by winning the "B" from a hard charging Roger Skelly.
Round 5 Mark Penney driving his Associated were in a class of his own and dominated both qualifying and the "A" Final. Aaron Vance held on to his excellent qualifying position to take Runner up spot. Stephen Carson got the 501 sorted in time to take 3rd. Jim Lee was in his now familiar 4th place ahead of the "B" Final winner, Robert Reid from Dungannon, who was racing for the first time again after retiring his thumbs last century!!
Round 4 There was a wee bit of History made when Stephen Carson put the XRay T2 007 on Pole. It's been a long time since a Touring Car featured so well at the Club. He went on to score an impresive win in the "A" Final ahead of Jim Lee, out for the first time with the Cat SX. Aaron Vance took a very close 3rd. Warren Cooper took 4th ahead of Karl Millar driving in his first "A" Final having won the "B" Final with his crash free driving.
Round 3 and the (Love them or Loath them) jumps were out for the first time this season. Stephen Carson "Flew" them to take pole ahead of Ryan Edwards and Aaron Vance 3rd. Ryan however drove his usual fast and smooth race to take the top points ahead of Stephen with Aaron holding on to 3rd with Matthew Cathcart in 4th. 5th came Jim Lee after moving up following his win in the "B" Final. Wayne Balfour extended his lead in the Clubmans Championship with his 4th in the "B" Final.
Round 4 is in two weeks time on the 16th April after the Easter break
Mark Penney and Andrew Rennicks long trip to the edge of the Tyrone Border is proving worthwhile with a 1-2 in Round 2. Davy McClean was top "local" in 3rd ahead of Ryan Edwards in an unacustomed 4th. Aaron Vance made it a busy night after bad qualifing with a win in the "C", then a win in the "B" to take the points with 5th in the "A".
